Kids............

So my kids have been "living it up" this summer. As my previous post was all about them staying at the time share with grandma this week while Kyle and I both worked =(. I am glad they are both having a great time but I miss them, so I called Alyssa to say hi and see how things were going and she REFUSED to talk to me!! OMG I was so upset I am officially the worst Mom ever, my own daughter doesn't want to talk to me! She said she was busy and would call me later....really???
I talked to my sister in law Kari who is also staying at the time share and she said we would have Alyssa call me when she got a chance. So I went about my work and was really missing the kids when my cell phone went off....FINALLY she is calling me.............Ummmm no, Alyssa sent me a text message that read " I love you mommy cause you are the greatest" awww how sweet and it made me feel so much better. Yes I am not getting text messages from my 6 year old daughter. I always say I don't have time to talk I text message like it's my second language and tell everyone I only have time for virtual friendships. So if your not on facebook or don't read my blog or you don't have a blog I am clueless, and I realize now my daughter is doing the same thing.
Well we will talk about this, I knew at some point in my life it would come down to nothing more then a text message from Alyssa, but at 6 years old??? I don't think so!

My new cell phone....=(

Well while on our "staycation" there was a minor incident. While Grandma and I were trying to get the chairs and all the toys situated, Ethan quickly grabbed his ball and wanted to go into the pool. He was not ready and did not have his swim suiton which we have given the name "Aqua man suit", so I told Kyle's Uncle Dick to watch him while we finished getting everything ready. I was getting ready to head out to meet up with some friends for just a bit when I heard a splash, I turned and did not see Ethan, my heart skipped a beat an when I looked in the water I saw Ethan's ball and then saw him under water....I quickly jumped in and grabbed him and of course this was all in a matter of seconds so he was 100% fine, but not my cell phone!!! Alyssa quickly pointed out that my cell phone was hanging out of my pocket... I have waited 2 years for a new cell phone!!Of course there is only 1 Ethan and I did not think twice about jumping in to get him, but dang it!!! MY CELL PHONE!!!!!!!!!
I will be looking to see if it can be fixed, but if not will be forking out the big bucks since I just renewed my contract with my cell phone company, or perhaps a go phone...but all in all as a Mom I guess this is one of the reason i am not suppose to have the new hip and up to date cool phones! But I think I will try one more time and see. It was the really cool flip fun and fun for text messaging...but again I love Ethan and he can NEVER be replaced. Even though this was a very minor pool incident it made me release 100% Ethan thinks he is water proof, so this weekend I will be signing him up at the pool club for swim lessons 5 days a week for 4 weeks and they will teach survivor basics and swimming so next time he does not have his "Aqua man" suit on he will still be able to swim to the top!!

Our DeVore family "Staycation"

Grandma traded her beach time share in for one a little closer to home that way all of us could enjoy it on the weekend and week nights when we can to go out and go swimming, it was a nice 30-40 minute drive from home so just far enough away to get away from work and life an trust relax.

After some dinner and relaxing we decided to go to Old town for the car show and some ice cream Ethan was in heaven he loves cars and really liked the "Mater" tow truck

The girls took a break and hung out in the kid pool, they had so much fun.

After the pool we quickly got cleaned up and went to get the kids face painted, here they are waiting.

The girls did not want to get their faces painted so Grandma got a heart and everyone else followed.

Aunt Kari took the girls outside to do a puzzle for some quiet time while Ethan took his nap.

And of course Grandpa was very helpful in helping Ethan take his nap, well what fun is napping alone.

Friday fun night

Friday night we went out to the Disney Caribbean Beach to visit with Steven, Andrea and Logan. The kids played on the play ground and got the kids some ice cream and had some fun.

Of course visiting with friends is always fun but just never seems long enough!

Saturday 7/11/09 Kyle and I were honored to attend the wedding of our good friends Scott and Rebecca. Kyle and Scott have known each other for almost 15 years and I knew Scott in high school....not telling how long then age becomes a topic, but Rebecca and Scott have been dating for 6 years and we could not be happier that they FINALLY decided to tie the knot.
Scott is a great guy and loves Rebecca like no other and Rebecca can just light up a room with her smile.

Happy birthday America!!!!

Of course like always Kyle wanted to entertain at the house so we invited family, friends and neighbors to a good old fashion 4th of July block party! We had the best time and managed to beat the heat with the kiddie pool and a slip and slide.

I tried to get Alyssa and Ethan to sit still for 1, just 1 good picture...well this is as good as it gets!

I am an Aunt again!!!

On June 29th my older sister Sharon had her second daughter Lillian Marie Mimler at 12:03pm at 7lbs. 15oz 20.5 inches long. Big girl! My sister did great all natural and mom and baby are doing great. I am so proud of my sister and glad Lillian is finally here, my sister and her husband had been trying to get pregnant for almost 2 years and finally it happened. I am such a proud Aunt this makes 4 nieces for me!!! Poor Ethan still 1:5 ratio hopefully someone will have a boy soon.

I was excited too, so excited I went to the hospital the night she was born and held when she was about 6 hours old, she is just so cute and she likes me already.

Everyone was talking and she even opened her eyes to see what all the noise was.

Welcome Lillian we are a crazy family but we are so much fun!!
